How we evaluated hula hoops

We have selected the most popular and affordable hula hoops and tested them ourselves. Here, we compared them and allocated scores depending on the criteria that we found most important and vital when choosing a high-quality exercise hoop.

We asked the following questions to determine the score:

How easy is it to assemble?

We have rewarded higher scores for those hula hoops that were the easiest to assemble and disassemble. After all, no one wants to break their fingers or spend an entire day trying to sort out their hula hoops.

What about its size and design?

Hula hoops with adjustable size were rated higher since those offer wider compatibility. No one wants to purchase an item just to find it is too big/too small. We also assigned a higher score for those hula hoops that don’t have curves and feel lighter (but not too light). Also, we looked at the materials of which the hula hoop is made, and more durable ones resulted in a higher score.

How comfortable is it to use?

The reason why hula hoops with curves are rated lower is that those can be quite painful. We tested all of our selected hoops to determine which ones are the least painful/most comfortable to use.

What accessories does it include?

Those packages that included not only the hula hoops but any extra accessories that could make assembly easier or contributed to exercises were rated higher.

How much are they?

We rated the overall value of the selected hula hoops if their quality and features were worth the price paid. We also gave higher scores for more affordable hula hoops, which matched their quality, and lower scores for the pricier ones.

What about shipping costs?

We looked if there were any shipping or other extra costs, and the more we had to pay extra, the lower the score, and vice versa. We also prioritized those hula hoops that offered free shipping.
