Sharpy Fitness
Main features
Our last option for a hula hoop is Sharpy Fitness. It came last for a couple of substantial reasons that we will soon cover. First of all, there were no instructions on how to assemble this hula hoop, and we think this is the bare minimum that every company should do. We had to go with what we knew from assembling other hoops. Most of the time, the assembling process was easy; however, the last few pieces were strangely tricky to attach. As if that wasn't enough, there were issues with disassembly as well. Ironically, the hoop quickly separated while spinning and yet disassembling it by ourselves was surprisingly hard. Furthermore, Sharpy Fitness has no accessories at all, which is a real bummer because every other hoop we've tried had at least one accessory. They even forgot to add the instruction sheet! Basically, what you get is just a bunch of pieces, and you can do whatever you want with them. This lack of interest in customer's experience from the Sharpy Fitness part is very disappointing. There are definitely many things to work on.
Design and Comfort
You can adjust the size of the Sharpy hoop by omitting some pieces, but you have to improvise as you go on this one. Unfortunately, this Sharpy hoop has plastic tubing and a plastic frame, making this item relatively light and wobbly. It's very easy to disfigure this hoop as it wobbles whenever you pick it up, let alone actually spinning it. As a matter of fact, the pieces separated during the first testing attempt, and the hula hoop quite literally flew away. Sharpy is far from being the sturdy and reliable hoop you would want for your exercises. It's also not the most comfortable one. Being too light, Sharpy is very unstable when it should be the opposite. The curved design makes it even less comfortable to use.
Value
If you want our frank opinion, Sharpy Fitness is not worth the money. Even though it was one of the cheaper options we've tested, we feel it's better to pay a little more and get a reliable hoop instead of getting a cheap one and struggling to use it. In other words, you spend so little, and you get very little. You also have to cover the shipping cost yourself, although it's not very much. Briefly speaking, we couldn't recommend this hoop with a clear conscience, especially knowing how painful it is to use it and how unstable and wobbly it is.
